Carol Nappi is the founder and sole principle of The Salon at Bergdorf Goodman, and a lifetime client of the iconic retailer. With a mission of mind, body, and spirit, Carol’s vision is to change how we view our own beauty: as an expression of what we feel in our soul, rather than what we see in the mirror. Carol will launch an international plant-based beauty product line to include hair care and color treatments, as well as color cosmetics. She began her career, working as a psychotherapist for over twenty years and has been active in philanthropy for over three decades. Carol envisions the salon as an additional platform to raise awareness while giving back all Salon service profits to local charities.
Seiji’s career as a stylist spans three and a half decades at top salons in Tokyo, Paris and New York. Known for creating feminine, natural, effortless and sexy styles, he believes that hair can change a woman's mood and her sense of confidence. During NYFW Seiji has worked for designers including Oscar de la Renta, Chanel and DVF and he has been quoted in numerous magazines including Allure, The New York Times and New Beauty.
Parvin Klein arrived in NYC in 1981 with a passion for all things hair. Her masterful coloring, selfless nature and optimistic attitude are only a few of her most memorable qualities. With more than 32 years of experience, she's mastered the craft of hair and coloring - a testament all of her premium clientele will echo. From Martha Stewart to Geena Davis and Annette Benning, her clients are both reputable and loyal. Zahir is an internationally recognized hair stylist and beauty industry authority. His work and expertise have been described as vibrant, dramatic, and cutting edge, yet Zahir has mastered the art of tailoring every cut and style to meet each client’s needs. His distinctive French-British technique and exclusive École Centrale de Paris education, combined with extraordinary training from the world’s foremost hair experts has garnered Zahir a cult A-list following including Gisele and Shakira. His work has appeared in Marie Claire, The Oprah Magazine, and Allure to name a few.
With a fresh and updated perspective to hairstyling, and 20 years of experience in the industry, Justin prides himself on catering to each client’s unique needs with a fun, yet meticulous approach. Understanding the challenges of hairstyling, his goal is to create a no-frills yet beautiful look that his clients can self-maintain and recreate. Justin is very passionate about making a healthy and positive impact on his client’s lives.
“Forget the before, embrace the after!” Myron Chin is a native New Yorker with over 20 years of experience in the beauty world. He is a salon educator, bridal specialist and has worked with a top roster of models and celebrities. His work has been featured in Harper’s Bazaar, Martha Stewart Weddings, Town & Country and The New York Times.
Luis Perez is known for stunning multidimensional color that always looks as alive as it does natural. He’s established his own unique style and following within The Salon at BG. Learning and developing his balayage formulation and color correction techniques, helps him create the newest looks without causing damage to his client’s hair. Luis is known for his intuition and ability to examine your hair texture, skin tone, and eye color before proposing a solution.
Georges Reus was introduced to Parisian glamour and style by some of his closest friends and learned the art of Balayage after moving to Paris from his hometown Lille France. Georges continued his training at Jacques Dessange Paris and joined the Frederic Fekkai team in 1998, where he became part of the revolutionary approach to hair style and hair color. He is a master of the Balayage technique, creating looks with a distinct approach to hair color: natural with an edge. Georges’ amazing eye for color has allowed him to collaborate with many publications including Vogue, Marie Claire UK, Elle magazine, and Glamour.
Alexis Unno and her husband Manabu are fashion and beauty insiders with over twenty-five years of experience in the industry. They originally met at Garren New York where they worked as a color and cutting team for more than a decade. Throughout the years, their editorial work has spanned the pages of Vogue, Vogue Japan, Harper’s Bazaar, W magazine and more. They have worked with such celebrated photographers such as Steven Meisel, Bruce Weber, and Annie Leibowitz, and their advertising campaigns include Neutrogena, Pantene, L’Oréal, and Clairol.

Yetty Bames got her start in the world of fashion and beauty at a very early age. As a young girl she experimented with all kinds of beauty products from local drug stores and spent many mornings in the high school bathroom arching her friends' eyebrows and doing their makeup. After pursuing her degree in psychology, Yetty returned to her first love and moved to New York City. Yetty Bames believes there is a deep link to both looking and feeling good, and is in a space where women can do both: The Salon at Bergdorf Goodman.
Lorna Boston has spent over 25 years in the beauty and fashion industries, having begun her career with an icon, Frederic Fekkai. After starting as a receptionist at the salon, she quickly grew to fulfill a variety of managerial roles with the brand. Her career path brought her to destinations including Pierre Michel, the Avon Salon and Spa, Trish McEvoy, Donna Karan, and Winston Bros before returning to Frederic Fekkai. Now, as the manager of The Salon at Bergdorf Goodman Lorna is extremely excited to be a part of such a talented group who provides an unparalleled mind and body experience for their clients.
Bonny Cheung started her hairstyling career in New York City at the Vidal Sassoon Salon. After years of perfecting her skills with French and British techniques she joined the John Barrett team at the prestigious Bergdorf Goodman, and is now thrilled to be a part of THE SALON team. Bonny has grown an extensive following and always shines when it comes to style. You can see her work in Vogue and others magazine and on the runway at Fashion week
A native New Yorker, Lori Chicka comes from an art background and has always loved engaging with people. In 2000, she joined Frederic Fekkai, training there and in Paris in the French technique of Balayage. Known for her open communication, Lori always guides her clients to create the best color tones to suit each individual’s needs, while always maintaining the integrity and health of hair and shine. Since joining the team this year, Lori is exited to pursue her career at The Salon at Bergdorf Goodman.
Julie Dbjay started her career 20 years ago in Marseille, France at the age of 15, where she worked for a variety of prestigious salons. She relocated to England to learn new techniques at Vidal Sassoon, then moved to New York City 8 years ago to work for Frederic Fekkai before joining the team at Bergdorf Goodman. Julie is known for her great experience in precision hair cutting, with a mix of effortless natural French style, allowing her to create hair that is modern and flattering and always suits her client’s features and lifestyles.
Hair colorist and beauty expert Allison Gandolfo, is well known in the industry for her talent and over 20-year experience in the beauty industry. Allison has worked at the AKS salon and the John Barrett Salon in New York City. In addition to her warm personality and meticulous attention to detail, she is renowned for her beautiful highlighting techniques and corrective color work which have made her one of the most in demand colorists in New York City. No matter the color, Allison knows how to choose the perfect tone to accentuate all of a client's best assets. Allison has also used her experience to collaborate with many different publications including Elle, Marie Claire, and Red Book.
Frida began her career at Pierre Michel Haute Coiffure & Beaute. She’s expanded her knowledge over the past 16 years at Serge Normant at John Frieda, Frederic Fekkai, John Barret Salon, and now as part of The Salon at Bergdorf Goodman. Frida’s technique comes from Dessange Paris and she continues to attend beauty trainings worldwide. She is known for working with each client to create a unique look and personalized hair color with rich dimensional shades that fit beautifully with each individual’s skin tone.
Michelle Huh discovered her passion for hair color in her hometown of Chicago. She moved to New York City and was invited to join the John Barrett team where she started a new chapter of her career being trained in the art of the French technique of Balayage. Michelle is well known for creating beautiful, sexy baby blonde highlights, natural sun kissed looks, rich browns and vibrant reds. She takes her time with every client providing excellent customer service and beautiful results.
Kenji Ishimoto began his hairstyling career at one of the top hair salons in Tokyo, Japan, while building his clientele and doing editorial work for both print and film. He relocated to New York and joined the team at Frederic Fekkai where he became an integral part of the education team. Kenji joined The Salon at Bergdorf Goodman in 2019 and continues his editorial work during NYFW, styling for such names as Proenza Schouler, Rag & Bone, Altuzurra, and Kate Spade. After a life changing accident that left him injured at a very young age, Kenji decided he wanted to live a life of service. He is currently the director of the NPO Hope for All, working with women in Asia to support their educations. They have established a beauty school in Nepal and Kenji is now one of the educators, paying it forward by teaching his craft to those less fortunate.
Stylist Herve Merlino was born and raised in the South of France and began his career in luxury salons in Paris spending 8 tremendous years at Jean-Marc Maniatis. In 1997, Herve relocated to New York City joining the famed team at Frederic Fekkai, where he remained for over a decade. After establishing a devout client base, Herve also had residencies at the Cornelia Day Spa and Sharon Dorram Color at Sally Hershberger before moving to the John Barrett Salon. He is now elated to be a part of The Salon at Bergdorf Goodman team. Herve’s cutting technique is a precise, yet versatile approach formed in France and perfected in the States. He believes that his clients should not feel limited or intimidated by their facial shape and features and should be able to choose the exact style they want. It is his responsibility as a problem-solver to discover how each client can achieve the look they desire. A consultation begins with just the client and Herve standing in front of a mirror. By observing a client’s lifestyle and personal aesthetic, he can tailor the perfect cut each and every time. IHe prides hiself on this “6thsense” – an ability to immediately understand what a client wants, keeping them coming back time and again.
Ernest Mullak has always had a passion for the hair industry since his early childhood. Pursuing this dream since 2006, Ernest has been trained extensively in New York, Israel, Moscow and Paris. In that time, he has mastered and established his specialty in a wide range of haircutting, styling, bridal up-dos and hair extension techniques. Based at The Salon at Bergdorf Goodman, Ernest believes in continuous education and strives to stay at the forefront of his field. With over 10 years of experience to offer, Ernest’s honesty and reliability allow him to build trusting, long-lasting relationships with his clients.
Katsu Nakamura was born in Japan and trained under top celebrity hairstylists for years in Tokyo before moving to New York City. Over the past 16 years he has worked with celebrity clients and TV personalities such as Martha Stewart, Andreja Pejic and top editors from Vogue, ELLE, Marie Claire, Vanity Fair and Lucky. Katsu’s number one goal is to make his clients feel confident and proud of their hair.
After attending the Paul Mitchell Partner School in North Little Rock, Arkansas, Andrea Newton became an educator for Paul Mitchell Systems where she trained their technicians on color, style and finish. Now in a management role, Andrea loves making people feel beautiful and seeing the talented team at The Salon make their clients feel fabulous. Andrea describes herself as, “A small town girl with big city dreams.”
It’s been over 6 years since Erick was first introduced to the chaotic world of the beauty industry. In that short timespan he’s had the pleasure of working with many talented artists in some of New York’s most high-end salons. For Erick, however, there has never been a group of people more passionate than the staff of The Salon. Watching everyone working diligently day after day honing their craft, makes him want to do his best to ensure that they have everything they need to do so.
William Jean-Simon helped introduce the world to the surfer-girl inspired California blonde look and the concept of “baby blonde.” William’s sophisticated color palette ranges from strawberry blonde, caramel and honey, to darker hues. In his early days in Paris at Claude Maxime Rive Gauche, he began experimenting with different color techniques, which landed him a job at the Jacques Dessange International, where he created each season’s color trends with clients like Jacqueline Picasso, Monica Belluci, Juliette Binoche and Eva Herzigova. After relocating to New York, he spent ten years as a Designer Colorist at Frederic Fekkai and worked with clients like Heidi Klum, Sting and Trudy Styler. In 2009 he took up residence at Sharon Dorram Color at Sally Hershberger and then became the Creative Color Director of Red Door Spa Elizabeth Arden. William Jean-Simon’s technique today is an artful combination of balayage, unique sponge painting, and specific highlighting methods, which uses tissue for meticulous color. He also uses a paintbrush for its light and even distribution of color to create the softest and most natural highlights.
Paul began his styling career at the world renown Fredric Fekkai Hair Salon residing at their flagship New York City location on Fifth Avenue. After many years, Paul was approached with the great opportunity to work as the lead stylist in Geneva Switzerland at the L. Raphael Salon and Spa. After his tenure in Geneva, Paul returned to New York City joining the John Barrett Hair Salon and now at his new home, The salon at Bergdorf Goodman. In addition to his time spent at the salon, Paul has also worked backstage for designer fashion shows such as Vera Wang, Rachel Zoe, Marchesa, and Proenza Schouler. He has also worked with actors and actresses in theater and film such as Lin Manuel Miranda, Matthew Broderick, Geena Davis, and Kelsey Grammer. Paul takes an individualized approach with each of his clients and believes everyone in his chair should be treated like a star.
Christopher-John is widely considered one of beauty’s leading colorist’s. The cumulative weight of his celebrated past and his continued innovation in the field make him a true master colorist. CJ has created memorable signature color for some of the world’s most iconic models, celebrities and designers. Known for his reds and blondes, both organically natural and boldly theatrical his art can be seen gracing the covers of fashion bibles such as Vogue, Harpers Bazaar, Marie Claire, ALLURE magazine and Elle both domestic and international. Also on the inside in ad campaigns for Prada, Gucci, Versace, Dior, Chanel, Marc Jacobs, Dolce & Gabbana and Anna Sui. Christopher-John is both thrilled and honored to have joined the talented creative team at BG, to execute the same brilliance and detail of his passion that the likes of MADONNA, Kate Moss, Donatella Versace and fashion royalty too numerous to list have grown accustomed to.
